The oxford dictionary defined precaution as action taken beforehand to avoid risk or ensure good result. It’s you safe guarding yourself, taking a preventive measure to avoid something from happening. In other words, it’s a safety means taken. Taking precaution is very important as we all know that prevention is better than cure. It’s better to prevent something from happening than living to face up to its consequencies. And as christians, whatever precaution we take, they must be in line with divine instruction.
The truth is, unless the Lord builds a house, the work of the builders is wasted. Unless He protects a city, guarding it with sentries will do no good. It is useless for us to work so hard from early morning until late at night, anxiously working for food to eat; for God gives rest to his loved ones. Lets put God first, we can’t get the best out of anything without committing them into His hands. Let your actions be in line with God’s instructions, be obedient. Take precaution, but don’t forget that they must be divinely motivated and guided. If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and He will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.
Before you embark on any journey, ask God what He is saying about it. Don’t move unless you’ve heard His voice, let him lead you. If we must get to the finish line, we must be ready to take precaution so we don’t fall off track. Life is not a bed of roses, there are a lot of traps on the road that leads to destiny. We must take precaution, it’s an ultimate price. Beware of complacency, don’t allow self satisfaction or self righteousness hinder your growth. It’s a dangerous weapon that keeps leaders on the same spot. We shouldn’t be complacent about the glory of God. Get involved, do things for Christ. The truth is, there’s no way you will work for God that you wouldn’t get a positive result at the end. Somehow, he always finds a way to give back to us, there’s always a pay back
Don’t just sit around waiting to see what He will do. Say no to complacency, its the first precautious move we must take as christians because it robs us off God’s blessings. And also, lets remember it’s pride that mostly instigates this act. So secondly, we should be watchful of how we allow pride operate in our life. The truth is, we can’t go far if we don’t submit ourselves to our elders, talk more of God. Pride is the pitfall of most leaders. It goeth before destruction, an haughty spirit before a fall. A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit. Feed on His words and obey them, and let them equip you and give you a better understanding of His purpose. Stay completely away from disobedience. Yea i know it’s in human nature to sometimes show disobedience in the place of leadership, but if we want to become a leader, absolute obedience is required.
Be loyal and be hard working, laziness and disloyalty takes us no where. Show total commitment to your calling and leadership responsibilities. This is your youth time, utilize it, quit procrastinating. Procrastination is a thief of time. Don’t keep rescheduling what you should do now. Even the bible says, “I must work the work of him that sent me, while it is day: The night cometh when no man can work”. When the night comes, we won’t be able to move our legs, even our sight wouldn’t be bright enough. The time is now, make the best of it. Spend your time doing constructive things and with goal driven individuals. Avoid unproductive relationships. Who are your friends?
The truth is, the company we keep will determine where we get in life. Be conscious of the people you are associated with. If you don’t watch the friends you keep, in 5 years from now, you’ll still remain in the same position that you are today. Keep friends with vision and seek wisdom from God. Don’t trust in your human ability alone. Be determined and have set goals, and don’t quit till they are achieved. Live each day remembering Abraham lincoln’s words which says Great men are ordinary people with extraordinary determination. Be self driven and let zeal propel you to an extraordinary height, and it won’t be long before you’ll be celebrated……TAKE PRECAUTION, IT PAYS!
