What is time? Time is a period or season in which irreversible events occur from the past through the present. It is the measured or measurable period during which an action, process or condition exist or continues. It can also be defined as the indefinite continued progress of existence and events in the past, present and future regarded as a whole. It’s the system of those sequential relations that any event has to any other, as past, present or future. Time for Aristotle is fundamentally linked to change and movement. Where there is alteration or movement, there is time. For everything that comes to be and ceases to be are in time. In other words, there is change because there is time. Time is a very important variable in earthly matters. Everything about our existence has to do with it, and there’s a specific period for the manifestation of all things has ordered by God.
Even the bible says, “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heavens. A time to born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; a time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silent, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace”. In other words,there is time for everything. But then, what baffles me most is the use of time by man. Man has grown over the years to become a massive tool for the constant abuse of time. People don’t seem to be able to set their priorities right anymore. They now derive pleasure investing their valuable time and energy in things that wouldn’t profit but destroy them. Gone are those days when people cherished that time and spent it wisely doing positive and constructive things.
I know man has his will to do whatever he pleases, but then, i want us to also remember the bible warns us against being bad managers of our time and not adhering to this only makes up debtors of time. We have to discipline ourselves with time. We shouldn’t go against the scheduled time. A good manager of his time is the true definition of a wealthy man. There is never anything that’s been properly planned that gets to fail. A good investment of time always brings about a positive result. Don’t spend your time drinking and hanging out with friends when you should be in the classroom solving mathematics. Time is too precious to be wasted. Most people sleep their time away when they should be lost in thoughts that would give birth to innovative ideas. Leaders spend their leisure reading and thinking, that’s what separates them from those that are not. Invest wisely in your time, it’s the greatest possession you’ve got. What you do with your time determines what you become. Remember there’s time for everything, so start setting your priorities right and give meaning to the life you live.
The truth is, anything contrary to this makes you unworthy of God’s love and blessings because it’s against the christian conduct and no sinner can fully appropriate God’s provisions. Spend your time wisely, time waits for nobody. Don’t go to the beach with friends when you should be in church. Remember God’s commandment that we keep the sabbath day holy, and likewise, you shouldn’t go to church when you should be at work. You must be able to know the left from your right. The fact you are a christian and you love to work for God doesn’t mean you will abandon your income paying job. The truth is, even the church needs money. How do you pay your offering and tithe when you don’t have money? The bible says, “my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge”. It’s just about you being a good manager of your time, there’s time for everything. So lets make up our mind to start setting our priorities right and be good managers of our time, because the clock keeps ticking, tick-tuck, tick-tuck, time waits for no one, so spend it wisely
